Gentle bodywork

Cranial Sacral Fascia Therapy

A soft, hands-on therapy that helps the body release tension and settle, for newborns, mothers, and the whole family. 🌿

What it is

A light touch that helps the body let go

Cranial Sacral Fascia Therapy (CFT) uses very gentle, intentional touch to ease restrictions in the fascia (the connective tissue that wraps through the whole body) and to support the natural rhythm of the cranial and nervous systems.

The pressure is light, quiet, and non-invasive. Many families choose it after birth to help a baby feel more comfortable and at ease, and mothers often find it a calming way to release the physical holding that pregnancy and birth can leave behind.

CFT is a complementary, relaxation-focused therapy and is not a substitute for medical care.

Who it’s for

  • 👶 Babies: comfort, latching & ease after birth
  • 🤱 Mothers: releasing tension from pregnancy & birth
  • 🧒 Another child in your family
  • 💛 Someone else you’d like to gift a session

What to expect

What a session actually looks like

There’s nothing clinical or startling about it. For a baby, most of the session happens right where they’re happiest, in your arms or resting on your lap. Kayla uses a touch so light it often surprises people the first time; there’s no cracking, no forcing, and nothing that should hurt.

Babies do what babies do. Some sleep straight through. Some feed partway in. Some fuss for a moment as something lets go, then settle. Any of it is normal, and there’s no need for your little one to be still or quiet for this to work. We simply follow their lead and take our time.

For mothers and older kids, a session looks more like resting comfortably while Kayla works slowly through areas that are holding on. Most people find it deeply calming; plenty drift off.

Plan on about an hour, and don’t rush yourself afterward. Feeding, changing, and a slow exit are all part of the visit.

Who provides it

In trained, familiar hands

Your sessions are with Kayla, a trained CFT Practitioner as well as your midwife. That combination matters more than it might sound: she already knows your birth, your baby, and your history, so a session isn’t starting from a blank page with a stranger. It’s simply a continuation of the care you’re already in.

You’re welcome to book CFT whether or not you’re a client of the practice. You are also welcome to gift a session to someone else who could use one.

Good to know

How many sessions, and what comes after

How many you’ll need

It genuinely depends on what’s going on. Some families come once and feel finished; others prefer a short series spaced out over a few weeks. We’ll talk honestly about it after your first visit rather than signing you up for something ahead of time. And if a series makes sense, the five-session pack is there to make it easier.

What you might notice after

Many babies feed or sleep a little more easily that day. Some are extra sleepy; others are briefly unsettled that evening as their body adjusts, which passes. Mothers often describe feeling looser and calmer, sometimes a day or two later rather than right away. Everyone’s different, and none of it is a test you can fail.

Why families come

Common reasons we hear

Families most often reach out after birth when something just feels off and they’d like gentle support alongside their regular care:

CFT is a complementary, relaxation-focused therapy. It doesn’t diagnose or treat any condition, and it works best alongside (never instead of) the care of your midwife, pediatrician, or lactation consultant.
